South Region - Industrial Museum visit

On Saturday the 26th of April 16 Atfal & 4 pre Atfal arrived casually as they do every week for the weekly Regional Atfal class but were pleasantly surprised to find that an outing had been arranged for them.

Earlier in the year the Regional Atfal Amila felt that educational visits to historic places and museums should be organised for Atfal during class times to promote a wider range of knowledge and to keep them looking forward to Atfal classes.

Previously North East Atfal visited the National Media museum in Bradford which they thoroughly enjoyed, and on this occasion a visit to the Bradford Industrial Museum was arranged.

Bradford rose to prominence during the 19th century as an international centre of textile manufacture, particularly wool. It was a boom town of the industrial revolution, and amongst the earliest industrialised settlements, rapidly becoming the "wool capital of the world"

The Atfal were able to learn about the historic heritage of the city of Bradford and Yorkshire through short videos, pictures and mainly by the sheer scale of the industrial equipment which was on display, and will now have some knowledge of what is meant by the industrial revolution.

We hope to continue arranging visits of this kind in the near future to allow the Atfal to increase they knowledge in all aspects of life.
